“So good” also replaces more specific words to prove one actually read something.

“What did you think of the book, Dave?”

“Oh, it was so good.”

“What made it good?”

“The way in which it was written. It was as if it were written for me. I understand myself so much better now than I did before reading this book. I know I’m a changed man.”
